The box came pristine. No dents, tears, or other marks of rough treatment. The way the bike lays in the box during shipping is fine, the fork is laid flat so I can't figure a way being crushed during shipping could be at play.
So the kids have gone to bed, mom is taking the presents out of the closet to place under the tree. Meanwhile I begin the seemingly easy task of assembling this bike. It's really simple. Put on the seat, the handlebars, and the front tire. Buuuuut there's a huge problem: the front fork of the bike is pinched. It's about an INCH too narrow to allow the connection of that front tire. Living in an apartment with no access to a machine shop I have no tools or equipment to bend this thing back into position, especially at 10pm. It's a total show stopper for this gift.
