Ybike Glider- Deluxe Scooter (Green) Reviews
8 of 8 people found the following review helpful Stable design but best for younger kids, September 6, 2011 By erugifog "erugifog" (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Ybike Glider- Deluxe Scooter (Sports) The Ybike Glider is a well-built scooter best suited for young kids not yet possessing the balance skills needed to ride a traditional two-wheeled scooter. The three-wheeled design takes much (though not all) of the balancing issues out of the equation for little kids and helps them to keep the scooter upright on their own as they ride it. The design does so at a slight cost of some of the maneuverability a two-wheeled design affords.
Setup is extremely easy: You simply snap the handlebars into the preassembled base, and the scooter is ready to use. One drawback to the handlebars is that they cannot be adjusted up or down to accommodate riders of different heights, as is possible on some other scooters. That's not a major drawback, however, as their preset height is suited for most kids who are likely to be using this type of scooter. The handlebars are a little tall for my two-year-old daughter, but perfect for my six-year-old son. The base is large enough for riders... Read more
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful A great starter unit!, August 30, 2011 By This review is from: Ybike Glider- Deluxe Scooter (Sports) Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) An older neighbor girl has a traditional, 2-wheel scooter. When my 2-year-old daughter goes over to play, she often walks up to the scooter, points to it, and asks if she can take a ride. Like any good parent, my answer is no. It's too big for her and I don't want her to get hurt. But I still feel bad for turning her down.
So, when I came across this 3-wheel scooter on Amazon, I instantly knew that I had to give it a shot. And boy, am I glad I did.
When the package arrived, my daughter and I opened the box together. Instantly, she lit up when she saw what was inside--I believe a "wow" escaped her lips. After a quick insert of the handle bars, she was ready to go. At first, we tried it out on the kitchen floor while I helped her to keep her balanced. After a few rolls, she got the kicking part down well enough.
Next, we went outside on our driveway. With helmet on, my daughter wobbled back and forth between my wife and myself. After ten minutes or so,... Read more
4 of 5 people found the following review helpful Decent glider, August 15, 2011 This review is from: Ybike Glider- Deluxe Scooter (Sports) I have done very details research about Ybike vs. Mini Kick for my 2 year old boy. There is NO review re Ybike Glider; this product just came out in July, so I have visited store to check out both products in person, I even called Ybike.
There are pro and con about both Ybike & Mini Kick, I end up purchased Ybike (green one) based on following:
Ybike - base board is wider, has rubber on top of board (so less chance for little kid to slip out of glider) & seem construct more solid (less likely to break vs. Mini Kick). A MAJOR factor of my buying decision.
Ybike - bigger and stronger/robbery grip (even at end of handle bar) vs. Mini Kick. Not a major factor to me.
Ybike- 3rd wheel at back is wider (about equivalent of 2 wheels combined of Mini Kick, Mini Kick has only 1 wheel behind). This is another MAJOR reason why I choose Ybike since it does feel more sturdy (on top of wider board).
There is one major CON & concern about Ybike... Read more
